This is a Maryland Minute, a short story followed by a roundup of Terps-related news.

No. 6 Maryland men’s lacrosse attackman Eric Spanos was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.

The senior tied his career-high of four goals Saturday in a 8-7 overtime win over Loyola (Md.). Spanos scored three goals in the fourth quarter, helping the Terps erase a three-goal deficit in the final period. He also recorded two ground balls.

The honor was Spanos’ third of his career, winning twice last year.
