Maryland baseball catcher Alex Calarco was named Golden Spikes Award Player of the Week Monday. The honor is bestowed to the player with the baseball performance in college baseball for the previous week.
Calarco recorded an astounding two grand slams and 12 RBIs in just three games over the weekend against Western Carolina. He also finished the weekend with a .571 batting average and currently leads the NCAA with 20 RBIs. He is also second in the country with five home runs.
The last Terp to win this honor was Matt Shaw in May 2022.
