This is the Maryland Minute, a short story followed by a roundup of Terps-related news.
Maryland men’s lacrosse graduate goalie Logan McNaney was named Big Ten Specialist of the Week, it was announced Tuesday.
After missing almost the entirety of last season, he has garnered the weekly award twice this season, bringing his career total to five.
In Maryland’s 11-6 win over Rutgers, McNaney made a season-high 15 saves, holding the Scarlet Knights to their lowest scoring output of the season. In the fourth quarter, he stopped five of six shots on net as the Terps pulled away for their third straight victory. He also secured a career-best seven ground balls.
McNaney and the Terps will look to clinch a share of the Big Ten regular-season title this weekend when they take on No. 3 Johns Hopkins.
