The Terps’ score at the regional, hosted by Penn State, was the third-highest NCAA regional score in program history. They defeated the Mountaineers in three of four events: bars, floor and vault.

The regional’s first round was the tournament’s only round of dual meets. The second round turns into a quad meet, between the Terps, Michigan, No. 1-seed LSU and No. 16-seed Arkansas. The top two teams from that quad meet advance to the regional final — another quad meet — and the top two teams from the regional final advance to the national semifinal.
