Maryland men’s basketball announced its coaching staff under head coach Buzz Williams on Monday. Williams brought in four coaches who served under him at Texas A&M.
Devin Johnson will serve as Maryland’s associate head coach, the same role he held at Texas A&M since 2022. Johnson has been on staff under Williams since 2012 at Marquette, following him to Virginia Tech, Texas A&M and now Maryland.
Lyle Wolf will serve as an assistant coach on Maryland’s staff after spending all of Williams’ Texas A&M tenure in that same role. Wolf has followed Williams since 2013, starting at Marquette as a graduate assistant.
Steve Roccaforte will also serve as assistant coach for Maryland after holding the same role with Texas A&M since 2021. Roccaforte has been a collegiate coach since 1989; Maryland is his 10th school. He served as head coach at Lamar from 2006 to 2011.
Lastly, Williams promoted Wabissa Bede to assistant coach after he spent the last five years on staff at Texas A&M. Bede played four seasons at Virginia Tech from 2017 to 2021 — two of those seasons were with Williams as head coach.
