This is a Maryland Minute, a short story followed by a roundup of Terps-related news.

Maryland field hockey, track and field, women’s lacrosse and women’s soccer announced new signings for their upcoming seasons over the weekend.

Track and field announced four freshman signees: distance runner Maren Iski, 400 and 800 meter runner Taylor Riley, hurdles runner Landon Spencer and sprinter Gillian Stephens. Iski hails from Wexford, Pennsylvania, Riley is from Upper Marlboro, Maryland, Spencer is from Raleigh and Stephens is from Fort Washington, Maryland.

Women’s lacrosse announced the addition of Penn transfer Keeley Block. The 5-foot-3 attacker comes to College Park with one remaining year of eligibility, off a 2025 campaign with 42 goals in 19 games.

Women’s soccer also brought on a transfer: senior goalkeeper Alyssa Abramson, who joins the Terps after a year at Kentucky and two years at Syracuse. She appeared in 15 matches for the Wildcats in 2024.

Field hockey adds sophomore Ella Fehr, a transfer from VCU. The Berlin native did not appear in a game as a freshman in 2024.
