Maryland and Under Armour announced on Monday a 12-year, $98 million dollar contract that extends through 2036.
The average annual value of more than $8 million is a near $5 million dollar increase from the Terps current contract with the brand, which was signed in 2014.
The deal also includes a name, image and likeness (NIL) program that will allow student-athletes to earn money from the brand by promoting Under Armour on social media.
Under Armour began outfitting Maryland football in 2004, as the Terps were the first collegiate team to wear Under Armour jerseys. The brand has been the department-wide outfitter since 2009 and will continue to provide game-day apparel for Maryland’s varsity athletic teams.
The deal also allows Maryland to stick with Under Armour CEO and Maryland alum Kevin Plank.
