Playing for local school Bishop McNamara in 2024, Davis recorded 40 tackles, four sacks, three forced fumbles and two interceptions.
Davis, rated a three-star edge in the 247 Sports Composite rankings, is the eighth class of 2026 commit for the Terps. Six of eight commitments have come from defensive players.
Davis’ first and only official visit came in College Park on June 6. He decided to stay home, turning down offers from East Carolina University and Marshall University, among others.
Longtime Maryland fans will be used to seeing the surname Davis on jerseys in SECU Stadium. Jianni’s father, Vernon, amassed 1,312 yards and nine touchdowns through two seasons as a starting tight end for Maryland before spending 14 years in the NFL.
