Former Maryland men’s basketball star Derik Queen made his professional debut with the New Orleans Pelicans in an NBA 2K26 Summer League game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
To open his NBA career, Queen achieved a double-double, logging 13 points and retrieving 10 rebounds. During the second quarter, Queen landed a behind the back pass to his teammate Hunter Dickinson resulting in a 13-foot jumpshot — one of Queen’s three assists for the game.
