MM 9.30: Adrian Branch, Chris Knoche inducted into Washington Metro Basketball Hall of Fame

Former Maryland men’s basketball standout Adrian Branch and longtime Maryland basketball analyst Chris Knoche were inducted into the Washington Metro Basketball Hall of Fame on Sunday.

Branch was a key player on Maryland’s celebrated 1980s teams, including the 1984 ACC Championship squad. With 2,017 career points, he ranks fourth on Maryland’s all-time scoring list. In 1985, Branch was selected by the Chicago Bulls in the second round of the NBA Draft and later became a member of the Los Angeles Lakers’ 1987 championship team.

Knoche has been a familiar voice in Maryland basketball for 25 years, working in both radio and television. He currently serves as the radio analyst for Maryland men’s basketball, alongside Johnny Holliday. Knoche played two seasons at American University, where he later coached for seven years, and has contributed to ESPN and CBS Radio.
