Baltimore County Police have arrested and charged an 18-year-old with first-degree murder in relation to the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old in Lansdowne in March, according to police.
Challah Haywood is accused in the shooting, which police at the time said was “very targeted.”
On March 4 at 2:37 p.m., Baltimore County Police responded to a ShotSpotter gunfire detection alert near Lansdowne High School at Hollinswood Shopping Center.
Police said a 16-year-old was approached by a single gunman, Haywood, and chased from a nearby liquor store to the shopping center before he was shot while running across Lansdowne High School property. After he fell, Haywood shot him again, police said.
Haywood fled in the passenger seat of a vehicle. The 16-year-old was taken to the hospital, where he died.
Haywood was arrested on Monday and is being held without bond.
