Four-star guard Kaden House, the son of former long-time NBA veteran Eddie House, announced his commitment to Maryland on Friday. The 6-foot-3 guard chose the Terrapins over TCU, Vanderbilt and St. John’s, among others. Coming from a long line of basketball history, Kaden’s twin brother, Kalek, is committed to Xavier and their older brother, Jaelen, was named the 2024 Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year at New Mexico and last played for the San Diego Clippers in the NBA G-League.
House – a senior at AZ Compass Prep (AZ), collected over a dozen offers and was scheduled to visit St. John’s next week, before he announced his commitment today.
He is a high-volume scorer and is a speedy and quick combo guard in the class of 2026. It is evident that House grew up near the game, because he possesses one of the best IQs scouts have seen in his class, especially when he gets downhill. He takes after his older brother, as a high-motor and tenacious defensive threat, but has yet to find his rhythm as an outside scorer, which was his father’s calling card in the NBA.
House is Maryland’s third commit in the class of 2026, joining Adama Tambedou and Austin Brown, thus far.
He is a four-star recruit and ranked as the No. 38 overall prospect in the class of 2026, according to 247Sports.
