The Baltimore Ravens coaching staff has been steadily in the news throughout the head coaching cycle, but it hasn’t ended there. According to The Athletic’s Jeff Zrebiec, multiple assistants are now being requested for interview for coordinator positions across the league. Defensive backs coach Dennard Wilson will reportedly interview for the New York Giants open defensive coordinator role while Secondary coach and Pass Game Coordinator Chris Hewitt will interview for the Jacksonville Jaguars defensive coordinator role.

Prior to the hire of Mike Macdonald, Hewitt was a candidate considered for the Ravens defensive coordinator position, interviewing for the role. According to Zrebiec last hiring cycle, Hewitt was “viewed as the heir apparent to Martindale if the latter got a head coaching job.”
Defensive backs coach Dennard Wilson
Wilson is a 12-year NFL coach and has spent nine years coaching defensive backs. Prior to coaching the Ravens, Wilson spent two seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, who helped lead them to the Super Bowl LVII with their No. 1 pass defense, which allowed only 179.8 yards per game.
Wilsons resume also includes developing numerous star defensive backs, including Jamal Adams, James Bradberry, Marcus Maye, Darius Slay and now First-Team All-Pro safety Kyle Hamilton.
Wilson joined the Ravens after the Eagles passed up the assistant coach in favor of hiring Sean Desai.
