After a thrilling overtime win for the Atlanta Falcons, impending free agent Kyle Pitts had himself a historic game, which means he could garner more attention for the market in March. In the Falcons’ comeback against the Buccaneers, Pitts returned to the field, recording 11 receptions on 12 targets for 166 yards and three touchdowns. Pitts is the first tight end since Shannon Sharpe in 1996 to record those numbers in one single game, so this illustrious matchup he had should put him at the top of the free agent list, and his value will now skyrocket. Originally selected as a first-round pick in 2021, the former Florida product is having a resurgent run and has no plans on slowing down.

4 Teams That Could Target Top Free Agent Kyle Pitts After Historic Game
It isn’t the first time that Pitts had a monstrous game. In his rookie campaign, he was named a Pro Bowler after recording 68 receptions for q,026 yards and a touchdown. He was the first rookie since Saints legend Jeremy Shockey to make a Pro Bowl in his rookie season. However, Pitts did have his flaws during his second and third seasons, which made him a potential trade candidate.
Despite that, the future is bright for the pass-catcher, who has the rare size and length that almost looks like a built receiver. Pitts can haul in footballs in deep routes, and that was proven in the game against Tampa Bay. With Pitts scheduled to become a free agent, here are four teams that could target him.
Possible Destinations
Kansas City Chiefs
Perhaps the Kansas City Chiefs could afford to sign Pitts in free agency. However, they would need to get creative to make that happen. Veteran Travis Kelce will probably retire after a disastrous 2025 season, so the Chiefs should rebuild either way at the tight end position. Pitts is the perfect replacement if the Chiefs want a reset in the position, while Kelce is riding off into the sunset with popstar, Taylor Swift, this summer.
Philadelphia Eagles
Meanwhile, current starter Dallas Goedert is scheduled to become a free agent in March. Despite restructuring his contract to stay in Philadelphia after attempts to trade him, the Eagles won’t plan to re-sign him. It wouldn’t be a surprise if the Eagles entertain signing Pitts.
Washington Commanders
The Washington Commanders took several hits in the offensive passing game, as far as injuries. With Zach Ertz’s career likely over due to an injury, the Commanders have the cap space to afford Pitts. It gives quarterback Jayden Daniels a fresh start with a weapon that can be a long-term relief for this offense. Pitts won’t be Jordan Reed or Chris Cooley, but his own product of making an impact.
Baltimore Ravens
Even though the Ravens extended Mark Andrews to a monster extension, it doesn’t mean he will play out the rest of his deal. There was once that Baltimore was rumored to trade Andrews before Isaiah Likely suffered an almost season-ending injury this past offseason. Since Likely is having a down year and will become a free agent in March, the Ravens decided to stick with Andrews. This means Baltimore signing Pitts makes sense for the long-term future for Lamar Jackson and this offense once Andrews can’t go.
