The Baltimore Ravens will be involved to various degrees in both free agency and the NFL Draft. Which of the two interest you more?
The NFL is in the offseason, but important, league-changing events are less than two weeks away. On March 10, teams can begin the two-day negotiating period with unrestricted free agents in what is coined the “legal tampering period.” On March 12 at 4 p.m. ET, teams can then sign players with the beginning of the 2025 League Year. Six weeks later, teams will gather for 2025 NFL Draft.
The Ravens will be involved in both, to various degrees. Ravens General Manager Eric DeCosta was forthright in admitting the team won’t be big spenders in free agency on account of their current spending.
“It still doesn’t mean that we’re going to break the bank in free agency,” DeCosta said.
However, the Ravens approach the draft with 11 picks, which guarantees they’ll be more active in the draft — a staple of the organization.

Are you more interested in the free agency or the NFL Draft?
My Answer: It’s not close to me, and I’m ready to take the hits. Free agency is what I love more.
In 2013, I (embarrassingly) skipped college courses to read and write free agency news on my dorm room whiteboard. I loved the chaos of free agency. The big-money deals. Even though that offseason was an exodus of Super Bowl winning talent, the opposite of their post-Super Bowl 35 strategy, it was enticing and exciting.
Couple this with the fact I worked in restaurants from 2012-2022, which meant I was running around The Melting Pot (in Fort Collins CO, Wilmington DE, Towson MD) every weekend with no chance to garner interest in the college football.
The excitement for the draft is still there for me. But for me, free agency is where I get excited for the Ravens and the NFL writ-large.
