Baltimore Ravens Add Six to PUP List

July 23, 2022 by Maryland Sports Blog

The Ravens added six players to the physically unable to perform list on on Friday, ahead of next weeks start to training camp. While much of the team will be ready to begin the first step of the 2022 season, the Ravens will be without many big names for the start of training camp set to begin on July 27th.

For many those added to the PUP list is no surprise as the like of running backs J.K Dobbins, Gus Edwards, and Marcus Peters, whom all three suffered ACL injuries last August and will begin training camp on the list. As well as outside linebacker Tyus Bowser who ruptured his achilles in the Ravens season finale last season will also begin the year on the PUP list.

While Bowser’s injury may linger into the start of the 2022 season, Dobbins, Edwards, and Peters are all expected to ready and it appears the team is taking precautionary measures due to the severity of the injuries.

Left tackle Ronnie Stanley who played in one game last season will also start camp on the PUP list as he recovers from his broken ankle suffered in 2020. Stanley’s health is a concern as expectations were that he was fully healthy to begin last season. Stanley was shut down for the remainder of the season after playing for the Ravens in week one, when his surgically repaired ankle appeared to not be ready for the demands of an NFL left tackle.

The other only other player added to the PUP list was second year safety Ar’Darius Washington who suffered a broken foot midway through the 2021 season. Washington played in three games mostly on special teams and will need to make an impact during camp as he is apart of a deep secondary. With the additions of Marcus Williams, and first-round pick Kyle Hamilton, Washington has been moved down the depth chart.

While head coach John Harbaugh has said that Dobbins, Edwards, Peters, and Stanley are all on schedule, nothing is certain until they suit up in full ahead of the Ravens week one matchup against the Jets on September 11th.
