The Baltimore Ravens parted ways with a member of their wide receiving corps on Wednesday.
Taking to social media, the team announced that it’s decided to release 23-year-old Tayvion Robinson after initially signing him as an undrafted free agent back in April.
Robinson played his college ball at Virginia Tech for three seasons before spending the final two years of his collegiate career in Lexington with the Kentucky Wildcats.
All told, Robinson totaled 194 receptions, 2,604 yards and 16 touchdowns at the NCAA level but it wasn’t enough to hear his name called on draft day.
The Ravens took a flier on Robinson in part because of his special teams versatility as a punt returner to go along with his potential as a wide receiver.
At 5-foot-10, 191 lbs, Robinson is a bit undersized but he produced some pretty electric plays with both the Hokies and the ‘Cats and earned the nickname “Sweet Feet” from fans and teammates in Blacksburg.
Now the Virginia Beach native will hit the waiver wire hoping to land another opportunity to live out his NFL dream.
And with teams seemingly always looking for receiver help it may not be long before his phone rings again.
