A hazardous weather warning from the National Weather Service warns that the Baltimore area could witness damaging storms from Sunday evening through Wednesday.
The warning covers southern Baltimore, Cecil, Prince George’s, Anne Arundel, Charles, St. Mary’s and Calvert counties, along with southeast and central Montgomery county, southeast Harford County and southeast Howard County.

Showers and thunderstorms with “heavy downpours” and isolated instances of flooring could occur Sunday evening through Wednesday, according to the alert. From Monday to Wednesday, the potential heavy rainfall and localized flooding could also be coupled with potentially damaging wind gusts.
Rainfall and possibly a thunderstorm are expected to begin after 5 p.m. Sunday. Conditions throughout the day are predicted to be cloudy with a high of 71. At night, storms are expected between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Cloud coverage is forecast to remain throughout the evening, and the low is expected to be 62.
After 11 a.m. Monday, a chance for storms is expected. Conditions throughout the day are predicted to be cloudy with a high of 72. Those cloudy conditions are anticipated to last into the evening with a low of 65.
On Tuesday, another chance of storms comes after 2 p.m. Mostly cloudy conditions with a high of 80 are expected throughout the day. Tuesday evening has a chance of storms any time before 2 a.m. Conditions are expected to be mostly cloudy with a low of 70.
Wednesday is predicted to be the first partly sunny day of the week. The high of the day should reach 91, with a chance for showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m.
Wednesday evening is expected to be partly cloudy. The low is predicted to be around 75, and a chance for showers is forecast before 8 p.m.
Thursday, Juneteenth, conditions should be mostly cloudy with a high of 93. A chance for rain and thunderstorms will be present, but between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Conditions are expected to shift to partly cloudy with a low of 70 at night.
Friday is likely to break the weeklong cloudy and rainy weather with sun and warmth predicted to peak at around 87. Headed into the evening, conditions are likely to remain clear with a low of 67.
