The NFL season is less than a week from being underway. This is the first article in a weekly series that will break down the best player props for the NFL week to week. Now that the Vegas lines are set, what are the three best player props in the NFL week one action?

Justin Herbert Over Passing Yards
What else is there to say about Justin Herbert? He’s a cornerstone player, an early favorite to lead the league in passing yards, and his individual talent is through the roof. In an injury-riddled 2022 campaign, Herbert topped the line of 11 out of 16 games played. Now he’s entering a plus matchup against a Miami Dolphins team without their top corner and added a first-round wide receiver in Quentin Johnston. Kellen Moore wants to light up the scoreboard and now has one of the best quarterbacks in the league to help him do it.
Most of the overs in this game will be great, and this is a juicy matchup for fantasy football too. Tua Tagavailoa is healthy and will be slinging it to one of the best receiver groups in the NFL. It’s one of the highest O/U’s of the week, and Herbert will smash the passing yards line.
J.K. Dobbins Anytime Touchdown
The Houston Texans defense is not good. At least, that’s the nice way of saying it. In 2022 they allowed the sixth most points per game, and the most rushing yards per game. They addressed their defense by adding Will Anderson Jr. but he would have to be Superman to fix this defense in week one as a rookie. Dobbins is another year removed from his ACL injury and is primed for a great year. As the Ravens offense improves and is set for a big year, Dobbins will be the beneficiary of an improved system.
The fact that his anytime touchdown is set at makes it feel like free money. Whether it’s through the air or on the ground, Dobbins is going to break off a big run or two. For what it’s worth, he’s also one of the best picks in fantasy football this season too.
Bryce Young Anytime Touchdown
Normally, betting on rookie quarterbacks to perform well in their debut is a bad bet. Full transparency, Bryce Young was one of the picks for boneheaded picks in the 2023 NFL Draft. But the bar for scoring a single touchdown is a low one, and at huge plus odds () it’s a good bet to make. They’re not exactly playing a juggernaut of a defense either, as the Atlanta Falcons were last in the league in sacks last season.
He’s not surrounded by the best weapons, but Jonathan Mingo has the ability to take any play to the house. All it takes is one missed assignment for a big payout on Sunday, making this one of the best player props for the NFL week one.
