The Baltimore Ravens have parted ways with longtime strength and conditioning coach Steve Saunders, the team announced on Wednesday.
Saunders has been replaced by now-former assistant strength and conditioning coach Scott Elliott.
Saunders just finished his seventh season with the Ravens organization. He first arrived in Baltimore as as the team’s director of performance and recovery in 2016. In 2017, he served as director of performance.
Saunders is best known for training 2008 NFL Defensive Player of the Year James Harrison — and other NFL, NHL and MLB athletes — as founder of Power Train Sports Institute.
The Ravens have been plagued by serious injury issues in each of the last two seasons. While Saunders has a long history with the Ravens organization, it’s clear John Harbaugh and the team felt it was time to move on.
