The Los Angeles Chargers are in dire need of another capable running back, and they could trade for Breece Hall at some point this season. According to a source, they believe the Chargers are a fit for the running back, as he could be in a new uniform either way next season. Originally selected in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft, the former Iowa State product is in the final year of his rookie contract and has not been granted a new deal. Hall has been the subject of trade rumors this past offseason, and they continue as the New York Jets are 0-3.
It’s easy to see how the Chargers could benefit from the presence of the backfield piece. While they have a rookie running back in Omarion Hampton that could breakout, they still have yet to find a replacement since losing Najee Harris due to a major injury. Everything is going right for the Chargers at 3-0, except for the injuries, which are out of their control. However, what matters is their response, and they have the cap space to pull off a trade like this.
Los Angeles shouldn’t rely on an unproven Hassan Haskins and Kimani Vidal, so the Chargers have to take advantage at some rate. However, like the Chargers, there are always teams looking for running back help, so here are three other teams that Hall could land in.

Potential Destinations
New Orleans Saints
The New Orleans Saints are rebuilding for the future, and even though they’re 0-3, it doesn’t mean they should trade for talent. Alvin Kamara is continuing to be in plenty of trade rumors, and since he’s aging, it might be best to find another running back in the trade market. The cap space isn’t in favor of New Orleans, but they’ve been to trade for DeVaughn Vele and claim Trey Palmer off waivers. If anything else, the Saints could target Hall if he becomes a free agent next offseason.
However, the Jets will probably want to build draft capital, so this could pay dividends. Hall might not get the start immediately, but he could be the new long-term answer for Spencer Rattler’s new offense in the Kellen Moore era.
Washington Commanders
Meanwhile, the Washington Commanders might have a running back issue at some point. While they traded Brian Robinson Jr. away in favor of Jacory Croskey-Merritt, it hasn’t been paying off for the team. They lost Austin Ekeler for the season, and they have to find a replacement. Hall could be a dual-threat running back and serve as a 1-2 punch alongside Coskey-Merritt to better support Jayden Daniels when he returns.
Baltimore Ravens
Shockingly, Derrick Henry might be on the decline after fumbling at least once in each game. It’s still early in the season, but it’s something to keep an eye on as the season progresses. While they have Justice Hill to step up, they could trade for another speedster to temporarily give some boost for Henry in situational moments.
