Arizona Cardinals free agent linebacker Kyzir White is still available on the market, but he could sign a contract soon before the 2025 regular season. Moe Moton made a list of top free agents under age 30, and White was among the top 5 on the list. Originally selected in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft, the former West Virginia product had a slow start to his career with the Los Angeles Chargers after spending three seasons with the team, spending one campaign with the Philadelphia Eagles before eventually joining the Cardinals. White became a solid contributor for Arizona’s pass-rush, so it’s hard to imagine that the linebacker didn’t sign a new contract, as he wasn’t the worst defender out there.
After signing Josh Sweat, it made it easier for the Cardinals to move on, but White is more of a linebacker than he is a defensive end. However, White did battle some injuries in his first years in his career after missing 18 games between 2018 and 2020, so could it be an injury issue that teams aren’t willing to take a risk? Only time can tell, and while he doesn’t record a lot of sacks, he provides stability to play at an optimal level to avoid the offense of scoring multiple touchdowns. He isn’t the best in pass-rush situations, but could be efficient in coverage for these five teams if he receives interest soon.

Potential Destinations
Baltimore Ravens
While the Baltimore Ravens have the offense to be Super Bowl Champions one day, the defense may be what’s stopping them. After losing Jadeveon Clowney, Geno Stone, Patrick Queen and Malik Harrison these past two offseasons, it will become increasingly difficult for the unit. Even though Roquan Smith and Kyle Van Noy are playing at their peak, it hasn’t been the same story for Trenton Simpson, who is coming off his worst season last year. Odafe Oweh is entering his contract year, and he may re-sign a new deal if he performs up to standards again, but Van Noy is getting older, and someone like White could fill the void of helping him in coverage.
New Orleans Saints
Meanwhile, the Saints could use another linebacker after losing Willie Gay this offseason. Demario Davis and Pete Werner still run this defensive pass-rush, but they’re one more guy to complete the package. White isn’t the best, but he could carve out a role in this unit to provide some stability.
Washington Commanders
However, the Commanders need a linebacker in the worst way. After losing Dante Fowler Jr. this offseason, the team needs a pass-rusher, and while White does well in coverage, he could be reliable to help Frankie Luvu in the middle. One has to help Bobby Wagner in the pass-rush, so maybe they keep rotating Luvu around while White solidifies most of the coverage snaps.
Dallas Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys aren’t desperate for another linebacker, but considering the contract situation with Micah Parsons, they might need another talent on defense. Jack Sanborn and Kenneth Murray Jr. are fine temporary starters, but they could use an upgrade over Damone Clark, where White could be a reliable backup and used on a rotational basis.
Los Angeles Chargers
Nobody loves winning in the trenches more than Jim Harbaugh. However, the run defense was at its worst while the secondary was explosive. White returning to Los Angeles might make sense to provide more juice to this team that contains Khalil Mack and Bud Dupree on the outside of this pass-rush.
