The Baltimore Ravens held their annual pre-draft press conference on Wednesday and it didn’t come without some controversy.
They wanted to focus on their draft prep but that didn’t last long when the questions surrounding Lamar Jackson started to come in.
When the first one was asked, Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta said that he wanted to focus on the draft and not Jackson. That led to another reporter asking DeCosta if the Ravens are looking at drafting a quarterback due to Jackon’s situation.
He was then interrupted by the Ravens’ PR person who said that they only want to focus on the draft. DeCosta did answer the question after the PR guy interrupted but it was still awkward.
Dan Patrick saw this and made sure to slam the Ravens during his show on Thursday.
“The reporter has every right to ask that question because what you do in the draft is predicated on what happens with Lamar. If you say you might draft a quarterback, the PR person can’t get involved there,” Patrick said.
“The reporter has every right to ask that question.”

These next few weeks leading up to the draft should be pretty interesting in the Queen City.
