Newly-released wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins will probably wind up hearing a lot of NFL teams give him a call in hopes of recruiting him. But a recent podcast appearance suggests that five particular teams with five elite quarterbacks likely have an edge over the rest.
Appearing on I Am Athlete, Hopkins listed off five quarterbacks he’s most like to catch passes from in the future. He identified Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen, Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts, Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes, Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson and Los Angeles Chargers QB Justin Herbert.
Judging by some of the reactions we’ve seen on social media in the mere minutes since Hopkins was released by the Arizona Cardinals, chances are at least one of those teams will send out feelers to see what a deal with him would entail.
Meanwhile, the Arizona Cardinals are reportedly going to be eating a $30 million cap hit with over $22 million in dead money this season. He’ll be off their books by next year.

DeAndre Hopkins is one of the NFL’s most explosive playmakers when he’s healthy. If he were to join any of the quarterbacks he’s mentioned as wanting to catch passes from, he could be a big boost to their title hopes.
The trick for several of those teams would be trying to fit him under the cap. Unless he’s willing to take some massive discount to play for one of his preferred quarterbacks (which seems unlikely), Hopkins may have to settle for a different team entirely.
