Prior to the 2022 season, Deshaun Watson’s agent, David Mulugheta, helped broker a massive contract with the Cleveland Browns.
Despite Watson dealing with some serious legal issues, Mulugheta was able to land his client a five-year, $230 million fully-guaranteed deal.
This deal has severely altered the way comparable quarterbacks are looking at future contracts. Ravens signal caller Lamar Jackson has reportedly demanded a contract that “exceeds the full guarantees” given to Watson.
Mulugheta has no problem with this. He wants Jackson to get his money too.
“… and @Lj_era8 deserves every guaranteed dollar he’s asking for!” he wrote on Twitter in response to these reports.
Jackson just finished the final season of his rookie contract in Baltimore. If the former league MVP and the Ravens can’t come to a longterm agreement sometime this offseason, the team could hit him with a non-exclusive franchise tag.
Watson is set to earn $46 million in fully-guaranteed cash this coming season.
