Everyone’s Praising Ravens Star For Saving Woman’s Life On Flight

February 2, 2024 by The Spun

BALTIMORE, MARYLAND – DECEMBER 19: Mark Andrews #89 of the Baltimore Ravens celebrates his touchdown reception with Marquise Brown #5 in the second quarter against the Green Bay Packers at M&T Bank Stadium on December 19, 2021 in Baltimore, Maryland. (Photo by Patrick Smith/Getty Images)

Mark Andrews is more than just an All-Pro tight end for the Baltimore Ravens, he’s a legit hero.

Andrews was on a flight from Baltimore to Phoenix this Thursday when a woman on the plane had a medical emergency. People on board were scared about her blood pressure being so low.

Thankfully, Andrews stepped in with his diabetes testing kit to save the day.

“A woman on my @southwest flight from Baltimore to Phoenix this morning had a mid-flight medical emergency,” Andrew Springs wrote. “The doctor and nurse attending to her couldn’t find a strong pulse, her blood pressure was extremely low, and required oxygen to breathe. It was genuinely scary.

“A man in the aisle seat popped up, ‘Could it be her blood sugar? I have a diabetic testing kit.’ It was @Ravens TE Mark Andrews. Andrews instructed the medical professionals (equal citizen heroes in this story) on using his test kit. Eventually her heart-rate stabilized.”

Once the plane landed, Andrews quietly got off and continued his day.

Even though Andrews didn’t help this passenger for attention, he’s receiving a whole lot of love on social media, and rightfully so.

Amazing work, Mark Andrews. https://t.co/cLRSnV0k8G

Andrews was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes when he was nine years old. He hasn’t allowed it to stop him from shining on the gridiron.

Shoutout to Andrews for being such an incredible individual.
