The Baltimore Ravens’ first pick in the 2022 NFL Draft shocked many, but not for the reason some might think. Notre Dame safety Kyle Hamilton was expected to fall nowhere near Baltimore’s pick at No. 14, and he didn’t fill a need for the team either. However, the Ravens like to employ the best player available strategy when selecting, and they did just that with the selection of Hamilton.
The Ravens released the jersey numbers of their rookies on Tuesday and it was confirmed that Hamilton would continue to wear No. 14. It’s the number that he wore in college, and most recently was the number of former Baltimore wide receiver Sammy Watkins, who has since signed with the Green Bay Packers.
On Friday, the Ravens released footage of Hamilton working out in his new jersey during rookie minicamp.
