Lamar Jackson has already reached MVP heights, but Andrew Hawkins believes the star quarterback still has a higher ceiling.
On Friday’s Get Up, Andrew Hawkins said Jackson can “absolutely” can better in this year’s revamped Baltimore Ravens offense than he was in 2019’s MVP campaign. The former NFL wide receiver is excited to see the quarterback flourish under Todd Monken.
“With this new offensive coordinator, they’ll be able to cater plays to his abilities, and they gave him weapons on the outside,” Hawkins said. “Lamar Jackson is the highest-paid player in the NFL for a reason.”

Monken will replace Greg Roman as Baltimore’s OC after serving the same role for Georgia during back-to-back national championships. Furthermore, the Ravens signed Odell Beckham Jr. and drafted Zay Flowers with the No. 22 overall pick.
Still, 2019 is a high bar for Jackson to clear. He tossed 36 touchdowns while setting a quarterback record with 1,206 rushing yards.Â
Yet the Ravens shouldn’t ask him to take on as much running responsibility with an upgraded aerial attack. As a result, the 26-year-old could eclipse that season’s 3,127 passing yards, even if he falls short of his lofty 6,000-yard goal.
Hawkins also declared that the Ravens are “as good as any AFC team” on paper. That could be the case if Jackson meets his lofty expectations.Â
