How Much Money Dalvin Cook Gave Up To Join Ravens

Newly-minted Baltimore Ravens running back Dalvin Cook was apparently so eager to leave the New York Jets that he left no small amount of money on the table to make it happen.

According to ProFootballTalk, Cook gave up $270,000 in wages from the Jets in order to manifest the mutual agreement to part ways that took place earlier this week. PFT noted that Cook can potentially make that money back in postseason pay with the Ravens.

“The CBA will result in Cook receiving $45,500 for next week’s bye. If the Ravens win in the divisional round, Cook gets $50,500. A win in the conference championship game results in another $73,000,” PFT’s Mike Florio wrote.

“The losing team in the Super Bowl gets $89,000 per player. The members of the winning team receive $164,000.

“So, if the Ravens get to the Super Bowl, Cook will make $258,000. If they win it, he’ll get $333,000.”

So if Cook wants to finish the season with more money that he would’ve made by playing one more game with the Jets, he needs to win a Super Bowl.

Dalvin Cook was used sparingly with the New York Jets as running back Breece Hall got most of the carries. As a result, he should be fresh and ready to go for a Ravens team that seems to have no end to injuries at the running back position.

Will Cook win a Super Bowl with his new team?
