The Baltimore Ravens are reportedly going to be without star cornerback Marlon Humphrey for the start of the 2023 season.
Humphrey is “dealing with a foot injury” and is expected to have surgery today, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Rapoport’s colleagues Mike Garafolo and Tom Pelissero first broke the news that the three-time Pro Bowler was expected to miss time.
“The hope is he’s back in a little over a month,” Rapoport said of Humphrey. “So, out for the first couple games.”

Humphrey, who is entering his seventh NFL season, is coming off his third Pro Bowl selection. He posted 71 tackles, three interceptions, three sacks, two fumble recoveries and seven passes defensed in 2022.
For his career, Humphrey owns 347 career tackles, 12 interceptions, 13 forced fumbles, 5.5 sacks, five fumble recoveries and 71 passes defensed. He led the NFL in forced fumbles in 2020 with eight.
Humphrey’s injury could open up more playing time for 2022 fourth-round pick Damarion Williams or 2021 third-round pick Brandon Williams. It’s also possible the Ravens add another vet at the cornerback position with the regular season less than four weeks away.
