The Ravens starting offensive lineman is headed to the Jacksonville Jaguars
According to reports, the Jacksonville Jaguars have agreed to terms with Baltimore Ravens free agent offensive lineman Patrick Mekari on a three-year, $37.5 million deal with over $20 million guaranteed.
Mekari, 27, was an undrafted offensive lineman in 2019. After proving his worth with his versatility to play multiple positions, Mekari earned a spot on the initial 53-man roster (which extended their undrafted player streak to 16 years).
Since 2019, Mekari has played in 88 games and started 53, including all 17 in 2024. In his career, Mekari has proven capable of playing anywhere along the offensive line, and in 2024 rounded out starting at all five positions across the offensive line by starting at left guard.
Losing Mekari will have the Ravens once more searching for a left guard. The position has been a frequent rotation the past few years, with each one being nabbed up after an impressive season prior to hitting free agency.
Mekari was a player the Ravens would have preferred return, but many expected to lose due to the market he would command. With Mekari receiving a contract ranking No. 10 among all left guards in average annual value, there was little chance the Ravens could match or exceed such a market.
Mekari’s deal sits just shy of former Ravens left guard Ben Powers, who signed a four-year, $52 million deal with the Denver Broncos ($13 million AAV).
