Jets reportedly made ‘very competitive’ offer to Ravens WR Odell Beckham Jr.

The Baltimore Ravens have needed to figure out their wide receiver for the longest time, and finally took a major step to doing so in signing veteran wideout Odell Beckham Jr. to a one-year deal. The team is investing a lot into Beckham, hoping the pairing between the two sides works out.

Despite Baltimore landing Beckham, they weren’t the only team in the running for his services. The New York Jets were also in the mix, and according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN on SportsCenter, said that New York made a “very competitive” offer for the star, but couldn’t get to the Ravens’ offer of up to $18 million with $15 million guarenteed.

“That’s something the Jets couldn’t quite get to..Maybe if there was more time, they would’ve gotten close enough to get it done. I do believe Beckham was intrigued about playing with Aaron Rodgers. Aaron Rodgers was intrigued about playing with Beckham. Just didn’t come together, but it was very close.”
