The Ravens defeated the Bengals on Thursday night, but it came at a cost. All-Pro tight end Mark Andrews suffered a season-ending ankle injury in the first quarter.
As Andrews was trying to reach the end zone, Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson used a hip-drop tackle to bring him down.
That didn’t sit well with Ravens coach John Harbaugh, who called out Wilson during his postgame press conference.
“It was definitely a hip-drop tackle,” Harbaugh said. “It is being discussed. It’s a tough tackle. Was it even necessary in that situation? The other one on the sideline, there’s always plays that you send in to the league to have them look at and interpret for you.”

The NFL has been thinking about banning the hip-drop tackle because of how dangerous it can be.
Here’s the play where Wilson tackled Andrews:

Wilson also had a questionable tackle on Lamar Jackson in the first half of Thursday night’s game. Thankfully, the former MVP avoided a catastrophic injury.
It’ll be interesting to see if Andrews’ injury pushes the NFL to officially get rid of the hip-drop tackle.
