Ravens head coach John Harbaugh provides injury updates on two Ravens.
The Baltimore Ravens had their brightest star on offense on the field and taking part in practice on the first day of mandatory minicamp Tuesday with quarterback Lamar Jackson who had been absent for a lot of the voluntary portion of the offseason program.
However, arguably their best player on defense, safety Kyle Hamilton, was present but in street clothes after practice, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh revealed that the 2023 First Team All Pro recently underwent a minor procedure that will sideline him for a few weeks.

“Kyle had some loose bodies in his elbow that they went ahead and just plucked out,” Harbaugh said. “So it’s a two-to-three-week deal.”
Hamilton is coming off a sensational breakout second season in which he established himself as not just arguably the best safety in the league but one of the NFL’s most disruptive defenders as well. The third-year pro’s versatility to shine in the hybrid slot role that made him a star was vital to the success of the Ravens’ top-ranked defense last season and will continue to be moving forward.
Another former First Team All Pro who wasn’t just not on the field but has yet to take part in the offseason program since joining the team was wide receiver and return specialist Deonte Harty. The five-year veteran recently welcomed a newborn baby into the world and has remained with his family after the infant was admitted to the hospital.
“I’ve talked to him a few times in the last couple of days: his baby is in the hospital. [He has] a five-week-old daughter,” Harbaugh said. “They brought her back in the hospital this weekend, and now – the last couple of days – and he felt like he couldn’t really leave his family, so we understood, and we excused him for that.”
Despite having not even suited up for practice as a Raven yet, Harty is the favorite to be the team’s next return specialist to officially replace another former First Team All-Pro in Devin Duvernay who departed in free agency.
