Nearly 12 years ago John Harbaugh led the Baltimore Ravens to a Super Bowl win over his brother Jim Harbaugh. Now that Jim is reportedly on the verge of an NFL return, he’s addressing the impending on-field reunion.

Speaking to the media on Thursday, Harbaugh made it clear that he doesn’t know what his brother’s decision will be. But he believes that the University of Michigan will do everything in their power to keep him in Ann Arbor.

“Well, I mean, I don’t know what he’s going to do,” Harbaugh said, via Jerry Coleman. “I’m not sure what Jim’s plans are. Whatever he does will be what’s best for his family. I know Michigan’s been a joy for him to go back to his alma mater. His family loves it there, the players love him, the coaches, the fanbase.

“I don’t know what direction it’s going to go. I would think the (Michigan) president and the board of trustees would be doing everything they can to try and keep him. That would be priority (number) 1 if I was them.”

In four seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, Jim Harbaugh them to the playoffs three times and never had a losing season. He also led the 49ers to three straight NFC Championship Games and a Super Bowl in the 2012 season.

Will the Harbaugh brothers be opponents again in 2024?
