The First Team All Pro limped off the practice field with trainers on Sunday but it “looks stable, looks good.”
The Baltimore Ravens returned to practice for the first time since the preseason opener on Sunday and had a scary moment when All-Pro safety Kyle Hamilton suffered an injury with 20 minutes remaining. Hamilton was helped to the sideline where trainers inspected him before leaving the practice field. Hamilton walked off under his own power with a mild limp from his left leg.
After practice, Head Coach John Harbaugh shared initial indications are “stable.”

“Looks stable, looks good,” Harbaugh said. “Obviously we’ll continue to do some tests tonight and tomorrow to make sure but first indications are that he is fine.”
On the team drill where he went down, Hamilton was backpedaling and looking to make a play on the ball in 11-on-11s. Afterward, he was checked on by quarterback Lamar Jackson and tight end Isaiah Likely before getting up and walking off under his own power.
The 2022 first-rounder is coming off a breakout 2023 campaign in which he earned his first career Pro Bowl and First Team All Pro honors. Missing him for any amount of time in the regular season would be a huge blow to a Ravens’ defense that was the best in the league last year and is looking to uphold that dominant standard under first-year coordinator Zach Orr.
Hamilton is a unique talent who assistant head coach and defensive pass game coordinator Chris Hewitt called “a unicorn” and many of his coaches and teammates believe is “one-of-one.” His positional versatility is vital to the success of the entire defensive unit as he enters the 2024 season as a legitimate Defensive Player of the Year candidate.
The Ravens still have eighth-year veteran Marcus Williams and two-time Pro Bowler Eddie Jackson who are both natural free safeties as well as fourth-year pro Ar’Darius Washington who can play Hamilton’s hybrid strong safety/nickel role but not nearly to the same devastating degree.
