Lamar Jackson Endorses Kliff Kingsbury in Ravens Hunt for New Leader

January 25, 2026 by Last Word On Pro Football

Lamar Jackson may be adding another role to his already impressive résumé in Baltimore. The two-time MVP has taken an active part in the Ravens’ search for their next head coach and is reportedly pushing for Kliff Kingsbury to join the staff as offensive coordinator.

Lamar Jackson is heavily involved in the Ravens HC search and prefers Kliff Kingsbury to run his offense, per @DMRussini.

Lamar Jackson Endorses Kliff Kingsbury in Ravens Hunt for New Leader

Jackson Gives Input During Ravens Interviews

Senior insider Dianna Russini reports that Jackson has joined Zoom interviews with team decision-makers throughout the process. He has offered direct feedback on candidates, including recommending former Commanders offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury for a major role in Baltimore’s offense.

Baltimore chose to part ways with longtime head coach John Harbaugh, now with the New York Giants, after a disappointing finish that kept the team out of the playoffs for the first time since 2021. Owner Steve Bisciotti and general manager Eric DeCosta have since taken an aggressive approach to rebuilding the coaching staff.

Kingsbury’s Strong Connection to Baltimore

Kingsbury has been linked to the Ravens since interviewing for both the head coach and offensive coordinator positions. He also wouldn’t need to relocate far. He spent the past two seasons in Washington, where he served as the play-caller for 2024 Offensive Rookie of the Year Jayden Daniels. Kingsbury helped lead the Commanders to an NFC Championship appearance, with Washington averaging 272 passing yards per game in the postseason—second in the NFL.

Anthony Weaver Also in the Mix

Russini also reports that former Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver is a legitimate candidate for the Ravens’ head coaching job. If Weaver is hired, Kingsbury could become the frontrunner for Baltimore’s offensive coordinator role.

Ravens Interview Multiple Offensive-Minded Coaches

Baltimore has already interviewed several offense-focused coaches this offseason, including Mike McDaniels, Klint Kubiak, and David Webb. Kingsbury remains one of the most prominent names as the Ravens look to reshape their offensive identity for next season.

Kingsbury’s Track Record With Mobile Quarterbacks

Kingsbury has built a reputation for developing mobile quarterbacks. His résumé includes coaching Patrick Mahomes at Texas Tech, helping Kyler Murray early in his NFL career, and guiding Jayden Daniels in Washington. Pairing him with Lamar Jackson could signal a shift toward a more pass‑centric offense, moving away from the run-heavy systems previously led by Greg Roman and Todd Monken.

What Kingsbury Could Bring to Baltimore

If hired, Kingsbury could implement a modern, quarterback-friendly scheme designed to maximize Jackson’s strengths as both a passer and playmaker. His arrival would mark a significant philosophical shift for the Ravens as they aim to evolve their offense in 2026.
