With his Baltimore Ravens in first place in the AFC, Lamar Jackson is one of the top contenders for the NFL MVP award. But winning that award isn’t the biggest priority for him right now.
Speaking to the media this week, Jackson said it would be an honor to simply be a part of the conversation. But to him the bigger priority is to win “another trophy” – specifically, the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
“It’s an honor just being acknowledged — to be [in the] conversation with great guys,” Jackson said, via BaltimoreRavens.com. “But I’m just trying to stay locked in trying to win, because I want another trophy.”
Jackson is 10-3 on the season with a 66.8-percent completion rate, 16 touchdowns and eight interceptions. He also has 644 rushing yards and five touchdowns on the ground, putting him on pace for over 800 rushing yards if he plays the final four games.

Lamar Jackson might also be a bit weary of NFL MVP trophies since he already won one in 2019. Winning that trophy didn’t get his team any closer to winning a Super Bowl though and to date he has just one postseason win.
Jackson’s last two seasons were cut short due to injuries, so he hasn’t even been able to vie for a Super Bowl since the 2020 season.
Will this year be different?
