Latest Injury Update “Doesn’t Bode Well” For Ravens Star

December 1, 2024 by Last Word On Pro Football

Kyle Van Noy Injury

Veteran edge defender Kyle Van Noy enters Week 13’s matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles with a serious injury. A second-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, Van Noy began his career as an afterthought on the Detroit Lions before resurrecting his career with Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots. Playing a pivotal role in two Super Bowl victories, Van Noy proved he wasn’t just a product of Belichick with successful stints with the Miami Dolphins, Los Angeles Chargers, and Baltimore Ravens.

Originally joining the Ravens in 2023, Van Noy began his Baltimore tenure by recording a career-best nine sacks on one of the league’s most ferocious defensive lines. While Baltimore’s pass rush hasn’t been quite as dominant in 2024, Van Noy has remained one of the team’s most consistent players. Through 12 games, the veteran has recorded eight sacks, 26 tackles, and 10 tackles-for-loss. Unfortunately, he probably won’t add to these numbers in Week 13, as Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports the veteran probably won’t play against the Eagles.

Kyle Van Noy Injury Update: Veteran Unlikely to Play Against Eagles

Zrebiec’s report doesn’t come as much of a surprise, as the Ravens listed Kyle Van Noy as doubtful on the injury report. However, Zrebiec’s added context makes an already difficult matchup that much harder for the Baltimore Ravens. At 9-2, Philadelphia is one of the league’s elite teams and Baltimore cannot afford to drop another game. Currently a half-game behind the Pittsburgh Steelers in the race for the AFC North, the Ravens must win out to maximize their odds of winning the division. The Cleveland Browns did the Ravens a favor with their upset victory last week, and now the team must take advantage of the added opportunity.

With Kyle Van Noy likely sidelined due to injury, the Ravens pass rush will run through former first-round pick Odafe Oweh. A situational player early in his career, the Penn State product is in the midst of a breakout campaign. Taking over for the departed Jadeveon Clowney, Oweh currently has eight sacks, 31 tackles, seven tackles-for-loss, and 19 quarterback hits through 12 games. If Baltimore wants to win this one, they’ll need Oweh to continue his strong play against two of the best offensive tackles in football.
