“Legitimate Offer” Could Lead to Blockbuster Ravens Trade

March 17, 2025 by Last Word On Pro Football

Ravens Trade Mark Andrews

Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews has been the subject of trade and release rumors throughout the offseason. Entering the final season of a four-year extension, Andrews currently carries a $16.9 million cap hit and has no guaranteed money left on his contract. Despite the financial incentive to part ways, Baltimore kept him on the roster while he earned a $4 million roster bonus. The team wouldn’t give away $4 million for nothing, so the fact he’s still here means Baltimore won’t cut him in 2025.

However, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic believes the Ravens could still trade Mark Andrews, although it would have to be for the right cost. While Andrews finished the year with a disastrous playoff performance, the former third-round pick is still a good player. However, with a $16.9 million cap hit and Isaiah Likely waiting in the wings, a team that needs a tight end could probably acquire Andrews for a third-round pick. In no particular order, the following four teams could make a move.

Mark Andrews’ $4 million roster bonus triggered on 5th day of new league yr, which technically was between 4 pm Sat. and 4 p.m. today. Ravens picked it up, which isn’t surprising. They were never going to release Andrews. Could they trade him? Perhaps, but would take legit offer

5 Teams That Could Trade For Ravens Tight End Mark Andrews

Los Angeles Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers have improved their roster in free agency, but they still need to add some pass catchers. Ladd McConkey had a strong rookie season, but the rest of the wide receivers and tight ends leave something to be desired. Mike Williams looked washed up last year, and he’s the only major addition to Justin Herbert’s arsenal so far. While wide receiver is probably the bigger need, the Chargers could also trade with the Ravens for Mark Andrews and land a tight end who could immediately become the second option in this passing attack.

New York Giants

Whether it’s Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, or a rookie, the New York Giants quarterback will need help to succeed in 2025. While first-round pick Malik Nabers is a star in the making, the team must find better supporting options than Wan’Dale Robinson and an aging Darius Slayton. Tight ends can be perfect security blankets for a young quarterback, and a Mark Andrews trade could give Miami’s Cam Ward or Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders a reliable safety valve as they adjust to life in the NFL.

Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars released Evan Engram, which means Liam Coen’s squad must find a reliable tight end for Trevor Lawrence. Perhaps Coen doesn’t want to build his passing attack around the tight end position, but it’s hard to ignore how strong a fit this pairing would be. By calling the Ravens, a Mark Andrews trade could give this team a much-needed second threat alongside wide receiver Brian Thomas.

Carolina Panthers

Carolina Panthers fourth-round pick Ja’Tavion Sanders had a promising rookie season and showed flashes of brilliance. However, they were too few and far between for the team to fully trust him in 2025. The Panthers have several high-risk, high-reward youngsters, and it wouldn’t hurt them to add a proven veteran to ensure some stability for quarterback Bryce Young. The Ravens would probably prefer to trade Mark Andrews to an NFC team, and Young could use the veteran reliability as he builds on his strong finish to 2024.
