Former college football coach Willie Taggart is apparently taking his talents to the NFL.
Per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Ravens are expected to hire Taggart as their running backs coach.
Taggart actually worked alongside Jim Harbaugh at Stanford from 2007-2009. He’ll now get to join forces with Jim’s brother, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh.
Last year, Taggart was Florida Atlantic’s head coach. He finished the season with an underwhelming 5-7 record.
Prior to joining Florida Atlantic in 2020, Taggart spent two seasons as Florida State’s head coach. Those two years were rough to say the least.
In addition to his stints at Florida Atlantic and Florida State, Taggart was a head coach for Western Kentucky, South Florida and Oregon.
At the very least, Taggart will bring a ton of coaching experience to Harbaugh’s staff in Baltimore. Whether or not he’ll revitalize the running back room is a different story.
