Look: NFL World Reacts To The John Harbaugh Announcement

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson released a massive statement on Monday morning just before head coach John Harbaugh sat down to speak at the NFL league meetings.

Jackson said via Twitter that he requested a trade from the Ravens on Mar. 2 since he’s not happy with where the contract negotiations are at. He doesn’t feel like the Ravens have done a good job of valuing him and wants to go to a team where he’s wanted.

Harbaugh obviously saw the Twitter thread and when he was asked about it, he said that he still expects Jackson to be his quarterback in September.

“I’m getting ready for Lamar. When Lamar gets back on this train, it’s moving full speed,” Harbaugh said.

“I’m getting ready for Lamar. … When Lamar gets back on this train, it’s moving full speed.”#Ravens coach John Harbaugh, on his QB requesting a trade.

“We love him.”

Fans are definitely skeptical that Jackson will be back with the Ravens when the 2023 season starts.

I mean it couldn’t be more clear Lamar wants out, I hope the #Ravens can find middle ground with him but this statement is just sad. https://t.co/RjrtWmpXCw

This feels like when you’re trying to break up with a toxic person and they just go on as if things are normal. Let the man go, it’s a wrap https://t.co/0FrhZNT1Tw

I don’t know the inner workings of the negotiations, obviously. But I feel like if he requested a trade over 3 weeks ago, and then made a public statement about it today, it’s probably safe to say the two sides are not really getting any closer to “getting back on the train” https://t.co/1C4dFiG1R1

John is in pure denial… he’s gone https://t.co/EWpsPRNrjU

Your QB isn’t getting back on the train, John. https://t.co/uzdzMXz4iY

“Lamar is getting off at the next stop,” another tweet read.

Interesting to see how this ends.. https://t.co/wq4onInHCU

We’ll see if Jackson changes his mind about the trade request throughout the coming days/weeks.
