Nobody seems to know what the endgame is for Lamar Jackson as he continues his contract dispute (which has since become a trade dispute) with the Baltimore Ravens. But one insider has a wild theory on what it could become.
On Thursday, Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk made the case that Jackson could decide to simply not play for anyone, anywhere until he gets what he feels he’s due. That could include not playing at all in 2023 or even in 2024.
“The Lamar Jackson/Baltimore Ravens end game includes the possibility that he won’t play in 2023, 2024, or beyond until he gets an offer he won’t refuse. Which possibly won’t ever happen,” Florio tweeted.
NFL fans seem to agree that it’s reaching the point where Jackson may be overplaying his hand to the point that he may never play again.

“I have been saying it for weeks, the guy is negotiating himself right outta the league. He values himself more than all the teams do and teams are not budging. When the tm that drafted him cant/wont bend to his demands no one else will either,” one user replied.
“Wasn’t Le’Veon Bell the last 26 year old that sat out a whole year because he thought he wasn’t being paid what he thought he was worth? The end — his career and Pgh’s “Killer B’s” dynasty was the result. Not quite the same but hubris is a bummer,” wrote another.
“Jackson’s value only decreases with a holdout Guy clearly just wants every single penny he can get and is mad teams don’t think he is worth as much as he thinks he is,” wrote a third.
