The three-time Pro Bowler earned his new-born son a game ball after recording the major career milestone.
Baltimore Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey has a lot to be grateful for this holiday season, both on and off the field.
After dealing with multiple injuries over the last few years, the three-time Pro Bowler is having arguably the best season of his career. Humphrey’s interception on Saturday against the Steelers represented two milestones: a career-high six on the season and his first pick-six in the NFL.

Humphrey’s clutch play was a massive momentum-swinger that came two plays after Lamar Jackson threw his fourth interception of the season to Steelers All-Pro safety and Humphrey’s former Alabama teammate, Minkah Fitzpatrick.
“Right before we went out, we were talking about, ‘Let’s get the ball back on defense.’ That was kind of the conversation we were having on the field,” Humphrey said. “To be able to get the ball back [and] really die out that momentum, it was a good time for somebody to make a play.”
Humphrey’s touchdown essentially sealed the Ravens’ first victory over their Steelers in their last five matchups and punched Baltimore’s ticket to the playoffs. The impact of beating the team’s archrival wasn’t lost on Humphrey.
“Man, it’s huge,” Humphrey said after the game. “I think [the Steelers have] definitely gotten the best of us over the years, and I feel like we haven’t played good football, let alone – and not even close to – great football. Not that we played the greatest today, but I felt that we did not do the things we usually do that kind of beat ourselves. So, to clinch [the playoffs] against the Steelers, there’s not a better feeling.”
Humphrey’s pick-six wasn’t even the biggest part of his week. The eighth-year veteran also welcomed his son, Duke, into the world just days before the biggest game of the season.
Humphrey is no stranger to fatherhood – he has been raising his wife’s son from a previous relationship as his own – but this is his first time caring for an infant of his own. He accepted a game ball from John Harbaugh on his newborn son’s behalf in the post-game locker room and spoke about the emotional impact of the week.

“There’s a lot of great things that happened this week,” Humphrey said. “It was a lot. I was just trying not to pass out or anything. I was trying to make the moment about her and the baby. I was just head down. The baby came out. I didn’t even really see it. I’m a little wheezy and I’ve never pushed past the wheezy and I didn’t think that was the day. So it was a lot. But I’m thankful. God is good.”
