It’s NFL draft season, and after a successful start to the free agent frenzy, Baltimore will look to retool its offensive line while replacing an elite linebacker and stout pass rushers.
The Ravens Wire has released an updated seven-round mock draft that sent Baltimore reinforcements at several key positions on both sides of the football.
The draft doesn’t start until Day 2, and PFF looked at the best fits for all 32 teams.
The Ravens landed a rugged FCS star from South Dakota State.
The Ravens lost starting left guard John Simpson in free agency, and they could replace him in the draft with a very similar player in Mason McCormick. McCormick is athletic, durable and nasty. He is arguably the premier pulling guard in this class, which is a plus when considering Baltimore’s gap-heavy scheme. If McCormick refines his footwork, he could start sooner than later.
McCormick was a three-year team captain who would bring starting experience and toughness to Baltimore’s rushing attack.
More road grader than a true athlete, McCormick fits the mold of what the Ravens develop.
