Former Department of Government Efficiency head Elon Musk has suggested he would donate to support the reelection of Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky.
Musk responded to another user’s post on X that showed a completed donation to the Massie campaign. The user asked in the post “who’s next?”
“Me,” Musk replied.
The Bluegrass State Republican acknowledged the nod from Musk, writing on X that “an interesting thing just happened.”
Massie, like Musk, is engaged in an ongoing feud with President Donald Trump after repeatedly speaking out against key components of his agenda. The president on Tuesday shared another post on Truth Social vowing to take him down in the coming midterm election.
“New poll: Anybody I Endorse beats Thomas Massie of Kentucky by 25 points,” Trump wrote. “Get ready. Massie is a very bad guy!”
Massie last week announced a new wave of donations after Trump attacked him for being a “third rate congressman” who is “very bad for the Constitution.”
“Thank you to the 988 people who donated $83,492 dollars in the last 24 hours!” he wrote on X. “Every time I’m attacked for defending the Constitution, y’all have sent the swamp a message by making me stronger.”
Musk and Trump have been feuding for weeks, essentially since Musk left DOGE when his time ran out as a special government employee. He adamantly disagrees with the “One Big Beautiful Bill” making its way through Congress and has vowed that he’ll form a third political party.
The tech billionaire on Monday posted to his X account, “If this insane spending bill passes, the America Party will be formed the next day. Our country needs an alternative to the Democrat-Republican uniparty so that the people actually have a VOICE.”
Trump followed with a Truth Social message suggesting that DOGE “take a good, hard, look” at how government subsidies assist Musk’s businesses Tesla and SpaceX.
He then doubled-down and said maybe his administration should look at deporting Musk, who is originally from South Africa, saying, “We’ll have to take a look.”
