NFL Power Rankings Heading Into Week 5

October 3, 2025 by Last Word On Pro Football

The bye weeks are here, and the injuries are piling up! Read ahead to see how all of this affects our Week 5 NFL Power Rankings.

Week 5 NFL Power Rankings

32. Tennessee Titans (0-4)

The Titans are a train wreck featuring the league’s lowest scoring offense and point differential (-69) entering week 5, which is a league worst.

31. Carolina Panthers (1-3)

I’m not buying Carolina’s Week 3 shutout win over division rival Falcons. Hot take: Mac Jones will be the Panthers’ starting QB week 1 of 2026.

30. Miami Dolphins (1-3)

Even though Miami got their first win Monday night, they lost Tyreek Hill in the process. Say what you want about his age, but defenses still had to game plan around him.

29. New York Giants (1-3)

Just like the Dolphins, the Giants got their first win in Week 3 but also lost their top superstar on offense. Seems like another rebuilding year for the Giants.

28. New Orleans Saints (0-4)

Say what you want about the Saints and their roster, but give credit to the coaching staff for keeping this team competitive each week. The Saints have a good chance of winning their first game in week 5.

27. New York Jets (0-4)

The Jets are a better team than their record shows. They could have easily beaten the Steelers in Week 1 and the Bucs in Week 3. They also threw the game away against the Dolphins with turnovers and penalties.

26. Las Vegas Raiders (1-3)

The Raiders finally let Ashton Jeanty go back to his Michael Myers stance, and he exploded for 3 TDs. They were a blocked FG away from being 2-2 on the season. Better days are ahead for the Raiders.

25. Cleveland Browns (1-3)

It’s time for Cleveland to make a quarterback change. This defense is way too talented and can use some help from the offense in the points department.

24. Houston Texans (1-3)

The Texans’ win in Week 4 looked more impressive on the scoreboard than it did if you watched the entire game. The offensive line needs to figure it out, and C.J. Stroud needs to channel his inner Brett Favre by gunslinging the rock down the field more. The bright side is that Woody Marks looked excellent.

23. Cincinnati Bengals (2-2)

If Zack Taylor wants to keep his job, he’d better get the organization to call the New York Giants and trade for Jameis Winston TODAY..

22. Arizona Cardinals (2-2)

The Cardinals have dropped two games in a row on game-winning FGs. Ouch. They have a chance to get back on track with their home versus the Titans.

21. Dallas Cowboys (1-2-1)

I give the Cowboys a ton of credit after their Sunday night game. They should have gotten blown out, but showed a ton of heart going toe to toe with the Packers. Maybe Jerry was right trading Micah Parsons, and I myself said it after the trade: I would not have paid Parsons all that money either.

20. Washington Commanders (2-2)

This team looks like a shell of what it was last season. Poor defense and injuries have plagued the season so far.

19. New England Patriots (2-2)

Drake Maye is playing lights out, and that defense looks pretty good. If it wasn’t for a Week 1 flop against the Raiders, this Patriots team could be sitting at 3-1.

18. Minnesota Vikings (2-2)

The Vikings are a tad overrated if you ask me, and they showed their true colors against the Steelers. Whether it’s Carson Wentz or J.J. McCarthy, the Vikings have Quarterback issues. Just watch the tape. All of Wentz’s production came late in the game, don’t forget it was 24-6 in the 4th quarter.

17. Chicago Bears (2-2)

The Bears squeezed out a week 4 win, and Ben Johnson has ripped off two wins in a row. If the defense, which has injuries, can continue to hold it together, this team should be competitive each week.

16. Baltimore Ravens (1-3)

What a start for the Ravens! Between injuries and poor defense, this team looks lost. Call me crazy, but in my book, Lamar Jackson quit on his team Sunday against the Chiefs. Not the first time he’s done this. Sources point to a hamstring injury, but I am not completely buying it. Go back and watch the tape of his actions on the sideline after exiting the game. Very Selfish tendencies.

15. Atlanta Falcons (2-2)

The Falcons seem to enjoy playing the Jekyll and Hyde role each week. Hopefully, what we saw out of the offense in Week 4 is the true makeup of this team.

14. San Francisco 49ers (3-1)

I’ll say this team could easily be 0-4. Another year full of injuries and aging players. On top of that, the offensive line is terrible. Personally, I would trade Christian McCaffrey for some draft capital while he’s still healthy. A Week 5 matchup against the Rams will be a tough assignment.

13. Jacksonville Jaguars (3-1)

The Jags are coming off their biggest win of the season in Week 4. I’m still not sold on Trevor Lawrence, and a week 5 matchup against the Chiefs is a tough task, but luckily for them, it’s in Jacksonville.

12. Pittsburgh Steelers (3-1)

The Steelers dominated overseas against the Vikings, and Aaron Rodgers is cooking. Mike Tomlin deserves a lifetime extension from the organization because that guy only knows how to win games in the NFL.

11. Seattle Seahawks (3-1)

The Seahawks gambled on signing Sam Darnold, and it’s actually paying off. Combined with a lethal running game and the top defense in the league, the Seahawks are off to a great start.

10. Los Angeles Chargers (3-1)

The Chargers traveling across the country for a 1 pm game was doomed from the start, and on top of that, they lost another stud offensive lineman to a high ankle sprain in the game.

9. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-1)

The Bucs lost a heartbreaker to the Eagles and now have to travel to Seattle. Still, this Bucs team is very scrappy, and watching Baker Mayfield play quarterback each week is a treat.

8. Kansas City Chiefs (2-2)

The Chiefs, in a must-win game, bullied the Ravens around and looked impressive doing so. Monday night, they travel to Jacksonville to square off against the 3-1 Jags.

7. Indianapolis Colts (3-1)

Indiana Jones has been a breath of fresh air and has finally unleashed this offense. This team will be competitive all year and fun to watch.

6. Denver Broncos (2-2)

Denver regained their dominance on both sides of the ball Monday night. Full throttle ahead for this Sean Payton team.

5. Green Bay Packers (2-1-1)

The Packers, who were a double-digit favorite Sunday, really dropped the ball. Not sure if this team is as good as their Week 1 win against the Lions or a mid-tier team they showed us Sunday night.

4. Los Angeles Rams (3-1)

The Rams beat the sizzling Colts because of two Daniel Jones turnovers and almost took down the Eagles in Philly one week prior. A Short week at home against the injury-riddled 49ers should be a cake walk.

3. Philadelphia Eagles (4-0)

While most have the Eagles ranked #1. I’m not sold on their record or offense. They remind me of the past Chiefs teams getting lucky bounces. Lucky eventually runs out.

2. Detroit Lions (3-1)

The Lions have been rolling since week 2, and as long as Jared Goff continues to play good ball, this team isn’t losing many games.

1. Buffalo Bills (4-0)

It’s Josh Allen’s world right now, and the Bills are playing in sync in all three phases of the game. The run defense has been suspect the past few weeks, but no Ed Oliver or Matt Milano in those games has been the reason why.
