Over the weekend, the Ravens signed Odell Beckham Jr. to a one-year contract worth up to $18 million. The structure of his deal is interesting to say the least.
Beckham received a $13.835 million signing bonus as part of his deal with the Ravens. His base salary for the 2023 season will be $1.165 million.
While receiving $15 million fully guaranteed is sweet, Beckham could earn an additional $3 million in incentives.
So, how’d the Ravens fit this deal into their salary cap? According to reports, they added four void years to the end of Beckham’s contract.
Beckham’s cap hit for the 2023 season is reportedly $3.932 million.
You mean to tell me you can manipulate the cap and basically do whatever you want with it? Huh. Who knew? https://t.co/niC4cO9v6M pic.twitter.com/r542AEywGc

“Always a way to manipulate the cap. If a team truly wants a player, they will get that player,” one person said in response to this news.

Beckham hasn’t played since tearing his ACL in Super Bowl LVI.
The Ravens are hopeful that Beckham will provide a significant boost to their receiving corps.
