During Thursday’s introductory press conference, Ravens wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. made a shocking comment about his latest knee injury.
Beckham revealed that he had no ACL in his knee for his entire stint with the Rams in 2021. He found out this news from the team’s physician.
“That whole season I was playing without it,” Beckham said. “It was a crazy thing. I signed with the L.A. Rams, and I remember ElAttrache comes down there and he’s like, ‘I’ve just got to inform you that you don’t have an ACL. You know, we can redo your surgery right now.’ And this was Week 9 of the season.
“And I just told him, I was like, ‘I’ve been through way too much to come here and sign. There was way too much talk on my name. You know, the past year, like I came here to win a championship.’ And I told him I’d die on the sword.”
Beckham’s efforts in the playoffs helped the Rams get to the Super Bowl, where he then re-aggravated his knee injury. He would eventually go under the knife and miss the entire 2022 season.
Shortly after Beckham revealed the full extent of his ACL injury, NFL fans rushed to Twitter to applaud his toughness.
I never want to see another person slander OBJ on here. Dude is a legend for what he did for the Rams. And no, they don’t win the Super Bowl without him. https://t.co/fvQIZ7noca

Beckham signed a one-year, $15 million contract with the Ravens that includes another $3 million in incentives.
Hopefully, Beckham will be back to making jaw-dropping plays this fall.
