For 15 years defensive end Calais Campbell has been a consistent force to be reckoned with in the NFL and has been rewarded for his dominance with countless accolades. But will he be playing a 16th season in 2023?
During a segment on NFL Network this morning, Rich Eisen asked Campbell if he would be returning for another season since he has one more year on his contract. Campbell immediately responded that he would be coming back for a 16th NFL season.
“This is true. I’m coming back baby!” Campbell told Eisen. He then predicted that the Eagles would win Super Bowl LVII.
Ravens fans are delighted to see that Campbell is coming back for another season and many hope that he’ll finally be able to achieve that long-awaited 100-sack milestone. A few Jaguars fans replied that they hope he’ll return to their team instead:
Calais Campbell has been in the league since 2008 when he was a first-round pick by the Arizona Cardinals. He played nine seasons in Arizona, appearing in 138 games and making 56.5 sacks while receiving two Pro Bowl and two All-Pro selections.
Campbell joined the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2017 and became an immediate superstar for their defense, making three straight Pro Bowls and finishing second in Defensive Player of the Year voting in 2017. He finished his time in Jacksonville with 31.5 sacks in just 48 games.
Since 2020, he has been starting for the Baltimore Ravens and has 11 sacks in 41 games for Baltimore.
Will Campbell reach the 100-sack mark in 2023?
